Audi: the Q3 and Q8 plug-in hybrids announced – Autoplus.fr

Audi will launch plug-in hybrid versions of its Q3 and Q8.

The Audi A3 range has just won a plug-in hybrid version with the arrival of the 40 TFSIe variant. After the compact, it will soon be the turn of the Q3 SUV to be entitled to it. Although this remains to be confirmed, the crossover should take over the powerplant of the A3 TFSIe, namely a 150hp 1.4L TSI turbocharged four-cylinder petrol combined with a 109hp electric motor as an integral part of the transmission to provide the total 204hp and 330Nm of torque to the front wheels, via a six-speed S Tronic dual-clutch transmission.

The Audi Q8, too, is about to put its fingers in the socket. Its TFSIe version should take the mechanics of the Q7 TFSIe, namely a V6 TFSI and an electric motor developing 381hp or 456ch to choose from. These new electrified Audi should be presented in the coming months.

They will enrich a range of plug-in hybrids also including the A6 TFSIe, A8 TFSIe and Q5 TFSIe. These models are crucial to allow the manufacturer to lower the average CO2 emissions of its vehicles and thus comply with European regulations. In France, these versions also make it possible to escape the ecological penalty which is about to become even more severe.
