You will certainly remember the Audi R8 RWS, an R8 available in a limited series of 999 copies and based on the current generation, but before the restyling. This R8 has the particularity of not having an all-wheel drive, a shame for a sporty Audi isn't it? Obviously, this variation has pleased since all the copies have been sold and Audi has even launched an RWD version, based technically on the RWS, but which is not a limited series and which is based on the restyled version of the R8 .
From 146,080 euros
Offered in Coupé and Spyder, the R8 RWD is available in France for 146,080 euros for the Coupé and 160,480 euros for the discoverable version, excluding options of course and ecological penalty of 20,000 euros. The Audi R8 RWS costs around 30,000 euros less than the standard model (from 177,760 euros) and 63,520 euros less than an R8 Performance Coupé (from 209,600 euros).
Compared to a more classic R8 with four-wheel drive, the R8 RWD claims 540 horsepower from its naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10. It is therefore placed below the "classic" R8 which gained 30 horsepower during its restyling, passing to 570 equines. Still above, we find the R8 Performance which displays 620 horsepower.
Technically speaking, the R8 RWD weighs 65 kilos less compared to the standard model and has a weight distribution of 60% at the rear and 40% at the front. The mechanical self-locking differential and the specific adjustment of the driving aids also allow more drift. Regarding performance, the RWD obviously loses a few tenths on the 0 to 100 km / h but it remains excellent with 3.7 seconds on this exercise and a maximum speed of 320 km / h.
