With the recent creation of the Artemis working group, Audi is putting the turbo on the development of new electric models including a large luxury electric sedan equipped with the latest advanced technologies and planned for 2024: the Audi A9 e-tron.
You have to get used to it: the future is definitely turned towards 100% electric cars (battery and hydrogen). Audi understands this and wants to get ahead of major competitors like Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Jaguar.
The Ingolstadt automaker’s ambition is to lead sales of luxury electric cars with a new flagship model developed by Artemis.
According to the British media Autocar, internal sources at Audi have revealed the existence of the internal E6 project which is at the beginning of its development. It will be a large sports sedan with the dimensions of the current Audi A7 with more interior space than an A8. This vehicle will embark on the latest technologies such as 5G, augmented reality, live update and the Car2x.
The car is based on the concept car Audi AIcon, unveiled at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. This new 100% electric model could be baptized A9 e-tron, with a marketing in 2024.
Audi aims to market 20 electric cars and 10 plug-in hybrid models by 2025, paving the way for dozens of electrified models from VW Group brands.
