Aston Martin gets into the bike. At the EICMA trade show in Milan (Italy), the European motorcycle show, the British sports car manufacturer unveiled the AMB 001, its first motorcycle.
This model is also the first of the new collaboration between Aston Martin and Brough Superior, one of the most legendary and expensive English motorcycle manufacturers.
"(AMB 001) is what we believe to be a state-of-the-art motorcycle, so we are very proud to see Aston Martin's wings for the first time on a motorcycle," Marek Reichman, vice president, said in a statement. President of Aston Martin.
Strictly limited to just 100 examples, the track-only AMB 001 represents the union of our iconic design and state-of-the-art Brough Superior engineering to create a piece of automotive art for the connoisseur motorbike.# AMB001#Aston Martinpic.twitter.com/neBBxAARjp
This first Aston Martin motorcycle seems to want to marry the best of both worlds. Cubed at 1000cm3, it has a V-twin turbo, and a ratio weight-power delusional: 180 horses for 180 kilos. All thanks to carbon fiber, aluminum, titanium. Both partners explain that this model remains dedicated to the track. It is not homologated for road.
An English motorcycle made in France
The presentation of this bike follows the work of Aston Martin in recent years in the world of supercars, like Valkyrie unveiled two years ago. The English manufacturer is thus positioned in a world of very great automotive luxury, the very high performance, all practically made to measure. It is in this spirit that Aston has collaborated with Brough Superior.
This bike will be limited to 100 copies, in the workshops of Brough Superior in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne). Lawrence of Arabia's favorite brand, Brough Superior was taken over by Frenchman Thierry Henriette last year, with a first new model released in 2019. Brough Superior remains in its luxury segment, which is reflected in the price of the AMB 001: 108,000 euros each. The first deliveries will take place in the fourth quarter of 2020.
