After a long procrastination, Aston Martin is preparing to put the four wheels in the world of SUV, with the DBX. A strategic novelty that will be unveiled on November 20, and which reveals today its price and its cabin.
An Aston Martin SUV? A few years ago, it could have been blasphemy. But now, it looks almost obvious, as this category has grown in importance. Unveiled on November 20, the DBX will open its order book the same day and already has the ambition to become the best-selling model of the brand. With a price set at € 193,000 for our German neighbors, where the VAT rate is a bit lower than at home. In France, the 200 000 € mark could be crossed, as already do Lamborghini Urus and Bentley Bentayga W12.
The big gap between luxury and sport
Side positioning, the DBX seems a little trying to juggle between these two competitors. Like Italian, it adopts indeed a very dynamic look. Sit is facies and its rear lights evoke the last Vantage, while its inclined rear window makes it play in the growing courtyard of "SUV-coupe". On the other hand, once aboard, it is rather the luxury which prevails: on the first image unveiled, beige leather dresses most of the cockpit. We also discover a large central console unpublished, with a screen installed lower than the rest of the rangeor four-zone air conditioning.
A V8 of 550 hp
After a little neglected aspect on the Rapide sedan, which has not had the expected success, Aston Martin claims to have particularly cared for the reception of rear passengers. Going to invite children during the development of the model to collect their opinion, a first in the history of the brand. But if it's always the driver's seat that interests you the most, there is still plenty to give you hope. Under the long hood, the V8 4.0 biturbo original AMG, already seen in the Vantage or DB11, has indeed won 40 hp to 550 hp. What to compensate in part the overweight of this SUV, which should also bring the all-wheel drive at Aston Martin.
