Who has never dreamed of having a car key that allowed more features than just unlocking their vehicle? An artist, Iskander Utebayev imagined a keychain that also served as a smartphone.
He unveiled his concept on his Instagram account. The key that accompanies the 1,700-horsepower hybrid car in turn becomes a hybrid. A video, made with special effects, shows what the product might look like.
The Koenigsegg Gemera are 4-seater hypercars, delivered with a key egg shaped, which incorporates multiple functions in addition to locking / unlocking the vehicle. We find among others hydraulic door opening, hood and trunk, but also a "Ghost" button, which allows the moving panels to all come alive at the same time. The original key can also come with metals and gemstones at the request of the owner.
However, Iskander Utebayev's concept goes much further. The key is equipped with a touch screen. It can be unlocked like a smartphone, using a code. We can see in the video that the artist created a 3D model of the car in the key, which allows him to unlock the door by tapping on it with his finger on the screen.
We can see at the end of the video that the artist arrives on a smartphone interface, with all the applications available. As a nod to another automaker at the end of the video, he even gets a call from Elon Musk on his key !
Koeningseggs are among the fastest cars in the world
In 2016, a Koenigsegg Regera had managed to shoot down from 0 to 300 km / h in 11 seconds, a remarkable performance. Koeningsegg had transformed his car into Transformers thanks to the “Autoskin” function.
