Apple is on track to sell between 240 and 250 million iPhones in 2021, smashing the previous sales record in 2015. Apple is benefiting from an exceptional renewal cycle amplified by the popularity of the iPhone 12.
Unlike many companies, Apple was ultimately not negatively impacted by the coronavirus crisis. It is even quite the opposite: according to Wedbush the firm is expected to smash its record for iPhone sales in 2021. The analyst firm believes thatbetween 240 and 250 million iPhones are expected to pass this year.
Over 350 million iPhone users are in fact currently “In a window of opportunity to upgrade” what should be “Translate into an upgrade sypercycle of unprecedented scale”. Knowing that iPhone users remain for the overwhelming majority of them in the Apple ecosystem. However, this is not the only explanation for these exceptional forecasts.
IPhone 12’s Outstanding Popularity May Help Apple Break New Record
IPhone 12s are genuinely appealing to consumers – and could prove to be the most popular devices ever launched by the brand since the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in September 2014. At the time, the key to success was larger screens – without this being a novelty since Samsung was already offering screens of 5 ″ and more.
But this catching up has obviously won over a lot of customers – or at least convinced them to stay in the brand’s ecosystem. This year, the iPhone 12 builds on the achievements of the iPhone 11 – in particular on the photo part and the design of the back of the smartphone. While adding more sophisticated sensors, including a LiDAR sensor on the back of the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Mostly, Apple has revived one of the most popular and iconoclastic designs ever launched by the firm. The iPhone 12 is indeed a return to the design that Apple developed between the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 5S. We basically have a frame with flat edges, aluminum for the iPhone 12 and 12 Mini and surgical steel for the iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max.
