McLaren team manager Andreas Seidl never doubted that Scuderia Ferrari would return to the game sooner or later after a few difficult years.
Last Sunday in Bahrain for the first round of the 2021 season, the Ferrari team managed to place their two cars in the points at the finish of the event, thus scoring 12 points in the constructors’ championship, which allows them to occupy the fourth position six points behind McLaren.
While there was still a question mark regarding Ferrari’s performance ahead of the start of the 2021 season after a disastrous 2020, Seidl insisted he always believed Ferrari would be able to bounce back.
“Everything I saw in the tests [hivernaux] and during the weekend [à Bahreïn] shows that Ferrari has taken a big step forward, which is not unexpected. “ said Andreas Seidl, McLaren team manager.
“We’ve always said it, and we’ve never underestimated the ability of a team like Ferrari with all their history, all their resources and their experience to come back quickly, so it’s no surprise and they also have two excellent pilots. “
“We just can’t wait to fight Ferrari again this year. How are they going to behave? It’s just too early to tell, but yes I can’t wait to fight this great team. “
