Alfa Romeo had the privilege, for the first time this year, to finish with the status of best team powered by Ferrari. This is not a panacea within the Sauber structure, however, and there is still work to be done to hope for good results.
“It was a relatively easy Friday for me. As always, there is still a lot to improve but the feeling is that if you put everything together you can be a little more competitive,” comments Kimi Räikkönen.
"It is still too early to predict where we can stand, but we must build on our achievements of the day to progress tomorrow, when it counts, in qualifying."
"Missing Free 1 was not ideal, but we made good progress in the afternoon so we made up some of the lost ground," adds Antonio Giovinazzi, who had a mechanical problem in the morning and saw his driving day cut in half.
"I felt comfortable in the car and everything gets easier when it does. So I'm happier now than this morning!"
“I hope we can find more performance tonight. The weather is still a big question mark for the race, but for now we are firmly focused on qualifying. My goal is to get to Q2 for the first time this season. "
