110 years ago already, the brand in Biscione engaged 15 and 24 HP in competition under the direction of Giuseppe Merosi, from 1911. The victories begin to rain 10 years later, with in particular the dreaded 40/60 HP Corsa which writes an important chapter in the history of motor racing in the 1920s. Subsequently, prestigious events such as the Mille Miglia, the Targa Florio or the 24 hours of Le Mans will see Alfa Romeo take first places many times, in their respective categories. The brand's racing cars, often red, sported the four-leaf clover as early as 1923.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ (Tubolare Zagato), a sculptural coupé designed by Zagato, has a tubular chassis, something that can be found in its name. All the other Alfa Romeos present are also Giulia models, in different configurations and with different upgrades. For example, the 1965 GTA is a lighter version of the Giulia 1600 Sprint GT, developed to run in the Group 2 Touring category. Its unique cylinder head and dual ignition allowed it to reach 170 hp against 115 hp for the standard road model. . As for the 1750 GTAm from 1969, two of which were entered this year, they inherited a mechanism derived from the 1750 with indirect injection and double ignition in addition. The funniest (the 1600 TI of 1966), taking the style of the cars of the dreaded Italian police Squadra Volante, sports a three-volume sedan design less elegant than the coupes, but is no less efficient. The 2000 GTV models are distinguished by their 2.0 four-cylinder engine under the hood and double round lights, placed on either side of the inverted pyramid grille at the front.
