Bad news for Alfa Romeo sports enthusiasts, the next two models announced have been removed from the product plan.
On the merger between FCA and PSA, we learn that the two future sports Alfa Romeo, announced in June 2018, the GTV and 8C, were purely and simply deleted. In a communication this week to investors, the management of FCA said that the range of Alfa Romeo will be incorporated in the coming years of 4 models: the Giulia, the Stelvio plus two other SUV, one in the segment C, the other on the B.
Four models in 2022
The year 2021 will be particularly busy for the Italian brand with the arrival of the restylings of Giulia and Stelvio. But this year will also see the arrival of a second SUV, that derived from the concept Tonale. The latest Alfa Romeo product plan also confirms that the Tonale will be the brand vehicle to be available with a hybrid engine. It will however be necessary to wait the following year – 2022 – to see the smallest SUV in the range. That will be available in electric variant.
A revised product plan for Alfa Romeo that puts an end to the hopes of seeing sports worthy of the brand. The GTV, a hybrid coupe derived from the Giulia, and the 8C are already just memories. We will be satisfied with the last 4C available (see photo).
