In a few weeks, the prestigious Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera will be celebrating (now virtually) the 110th anniversary of Alfa Romeo and will unveil a new car made for the occasion, the Alfa Romeo Berlinetta Aero.
Alas, it will be necessary to do without the green and prestigious frame of Goodwood Festival of Speed and to be satisfied with a screen of computer or smartphone to discover this Italian news.
110 years of existence are worth a singular model
The teaser published by the famous Italian body gives us a taste of the general lines of this new model.
Even if one part is visible and the other is surrounded by darkness, we can guess a design inspired by that of the Alfa Romeo 8C 2900 B Special Le Mans created and then built by Touring Superleggera to participate in the race of the 24 Hours of Mans 1938.
If the 8C 2900 of the late 30s was powered by a L8 2.9 L with 220 hp associated with a BVM4 responsible for sending power to the rear wheels, the Berlinetta Aero 2020 should borrow (the conditional is required) the underside of the Giulia GTA sedan including the boiling V6 2.9 L Biturbo with 540 hp.
The famous Italian body does not give descriptive elements or specifications. We don't know if this Berlinetta Aero will be a One-off or produced as part of a very small series.
To discover together at the beginning of July.
