After Audi and Porsche, Acura is the third manufacturer to enter LMDh. The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship debut is expected in 2023.
“Acura Motorsports confirms today that the brand will continue to race in the premier class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2023 under Le Mans Daytona hybrid (LMDh) rules”, the builder said in a statement.
The brand has been present in the American series since 2018 with the Acura ARX-05 DPi equipped with a twin turbo engine.
The Acura Team Penske program ended in late 2020 after winning the IMSA title. Two ARX-05 DPi are entered in the 24 Hours of Daytona with Meyer Shank Racing and Wayne Taylor Racing.
