Acura and BMW victorious at Road Atlanta –

Pole position in the DPi class, Helio Castroneves and Rick Taylor managed to take the first place at the finish line after a crazy race.

Falling down to a lap of the head after two penalties early in the race for excessive speed and failing to follow a red light in the pit lane, the Brazilian and the American made an incredible comeback.

Just over an hour from the end of the event at Road Atlanta, the two Acura drivers caught up and took control of the race. At the end of the race, a collision between Juan Pablo Montoya (Acura) and Toni Vilander (Scuderia Corsa) provided a final two-lap sprint. A sprint in which Helio Castroneves held out against the pressure of Harry Tincknell (Mazda). The Felipe Nasr-Luis Felipe Derani-Felipe Alburquerque trio completed the podium.

In the GTLM category, the No. 25 BMW won. In the hands of Connor De Phillippi and Bruno Spengler, Team RLL's M8 GTE took the lead at the halfway point before settling there definitively after the last wave of pitstops at just over 50 minutes of the checkered flag.

At the finish line, the De Philippi / Spengler duo beat the Corvette of Tommy Milner and Oliver Gavin, and the No. 24 BMW M8 GTE driven by Jesse Krohn and John Edwards.
