Lamborghini discreetly hinted at it in its press release dedicated to the financial results for 2020. Two new V12 models will arrive this year. We obviously think of the highly anticipated renewal of the brand’s iconic supercar, the Aventador. But nothing is certain.
The Sant’Agata Bolognese brand has just achieved its second best ever year in terms of turnover and sales. The year 2021, for its part, was inaugurated with the launch of the Huracan STO, an ultimate version of the entry-level supercar, inspired by the competition model.
And in all likelihood, the year will continue in style with the launch of two new models exploiting the majestic V12. No further details have been provided but we are thinking of a somewhat special version of the Aventador. Or better, the long-awaited renewal of the model, which according to our sources should always use an atmospheric V12.
Other slightly less sexy avenues, however, cannot be ruled out. Indeed, according to some rumors, Lamborghini would like to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first presentation of the Countach prototype, which took place in 1971 at the Geneva Motor Show. It may well be that one of the two new V12 models planned for this year is simply a somewhat special edition of the Aventador.
The other model in question could be an umpteenth limited edition version, in the spirit of the SVJ Xago Edition or the speedster SC20. But it will certainly not be long before we have the answer.
