Italian automaker Pagani has posted a documentary on YouTube that traces the history of the Huayra Roadster BC and the challenges of designing this exceptional automobile.
As the documentary explains, the story of this Huyara Roadster begins when several of the brand's customers show interest in a convertible version of the new Pagani. A situation that the brand had not imagined since the Pagani management committee had not planned to manufacture a roadster variant of the Huayra.
However, realize this hypercar was not an easy task as explained by project manager Lorenzo Kerkoc. He had to create a car that weighs only 1250 kg, about the same weight as a Dacia Duster (1,200 kg). This is why the car is mainly composed of carbon and titanium.
Pagani also wanted the Huyara Roadster BC offers, at a minimum, support from 500 kg when the car is traveling at 280 km / h. According to the engineers, this could have been done easily if the car had been a little lower. However, the driving could have been difficult, so they had to find another solution.
And on the engine side?
It is perhaps on this part that Pagani has worked the least. Indeed, they appealed to AMG to build a 6-liter twin-turbo V12 engine. It develops the modest power of 791 horsepower for 1,050 Nm of torque.
The 40 copies of this sublime hypercar have unfortunately all been sold.
