The announcement was in the air, here it is official: Antonio Giovinazzi and Alfa Romeo will continue the adventure in 2020. Author of a good second half of the season, the Italian keeps his bucket for next season, alongside Kimi Räikkönen.
"Antonio has performed very well this year and I am extremely happy to be able to confirm that he will stay with Alfa Romeo Racing until 2020 (…) We look forward to unlocking his full potential by continuing to work together", said Frédéric Vasseur, team manager.
For Hülkenberg, the last door closes
"I am very happy (…) I am grateful for the incredible level of support I received during my first full season in Formula 1, for its part entrusted the transalpine pilot. We have learned a lot this season and I am confident that we can take a big step forward next year. I will no longer be a beginner and there will be no more excuses for me."
If Antonio Giovinazzi is therefore a satisfied driver, it is a little less the case for Nico Hulkenberg, who has been working for a few days his reconversion. It could be officialized in DTM at BMW Tuesday.
