Trial version

XT5 Sport

Barely three years after entering the segment, the Cadillac XT5 benefits from a slight mid-term overhaul that allows it to better compete and, above all, to harmonize with the lines and style of the most recent members of the family. It will be fairly easy for you to recognize it; stylists have reviewed the grille and headlights of the 2020 Cadillac XT5, as well as the rims. The rear part has also been touched up, but the choice of colors for the bodywork is still monotonous; only horizon red adds a bit of life to the color palette.

For 2020, Cadillac has also simplified the versions by eliminating the Platinum, in particular, which leaves only three versions. The most economical is the Luxe version at $ 46,498, the only one offered in a traction version and, of course, we recommend that you avoid it. Why buy a luxury SUV without all-wheel drive, especially if you only save $ 2,500. We suggest that you opt for the all-wheel drive offered as an option and simply orient yourself towards the high-end Luxury version which, at a price of $ 50,998, offers it as standard with, as a bonus, some additional equipment including a panoramic sunroof and a cargo space management system.

We tested the most opulent of the XT5, the Sport version, which not only offers a high degree of equipment but also a distinct visual treatment giving it a more dynamic look thanks to the trim, a black grille as well to exclusive rims, in particular. This is Cadillac’s new strategy, offering two personalities to its vehicles, chic or sporty. The effect is a little less impactful in the case of the 2020 Cadillac XT5 than in the case of the new Escalade.

The name Platinum is back, but this time in the form of a fairly expensive set of options, $ 4,200. It is especially the suede roof that makes it interesting; it pretty much enhances the inner appearance.
