Established in Belley, in Ain, since 1985, the Volvo CE production plant manufactures mini excavators. Initially marketed under the brand Pel Job, they joined the Volvo Group in 1995 and have been marketed under the Volvo brand since 2000. Numerous models have been produced at this site for 35 years. Today the factory manufactures seven models of short radius mini excavators from 1.8 to 6 tonnes and five conventional models from 1.5 to 3.5 tonnes.
December 14, 2020, the 100,000th machine rolled off the production lines. it’s about the new ECR58. The customer of this machine, the earthmoving company E. TP based in Sermaises in the Loiret, came receive the keys to his machine on February 9, taking advantage of this opportunity to visit the factory, test the new products available on the demonstration site and meet some of the players who run the site on a daily basis. “It is an important and significant step for our company, we want to keep a memory of it through this celebration ”, comments with pride Pierre Jenny, director of the Belley site.
The first units of this new model began to be marketed on December 4. The F-generation ECR58 offers many technological features to its users regardless of their profession. From onscreen menus to the exterior styling of the machine, this model features the latest Volvo brand identity. This machine, developed and produced in Belley, is the result of collaboration between teams from Sweden, Korea and France.
